The school counselor provides a variety of services based on individual student needs and interests. These services involve mental, emotional, social, developmental, and behavioral services to students and families. The school counselor also provides academic guidance, school crisis intervention, and collaboration with more in-depth services needed through community agencies such as Life Help.
The school counselor conducts weekly Character Education lessons. Every month, a new character trait is introduced to the students. These traits teach the students how to respond more appropriately to situations that may arise. Responsibility, respect, and compassion are a few examples of character traits that are discussed.
